Summer Camp runs 7 weeks – it is an integrated preschool experience for children 2.3 years to 6 years of age. The children are divided into 2 groups. The older children begin outside (fenced in) with a variety
of arts and sensory activities. The inside group enjoys big block building, drama center, free play/floor toys, books, puzzles, musical instruments, a puppet theatre, and many other exciting activities.
Each group has a morning snack and 2 interactive music circles. Mid-morning the groups switch locations, so that both groups get the opportunity to enjoy both inside and outdoor experiences. Note: there is a rainy-day plan in the gym.
Summer camp will run for 7 weeks with the options of attending for the entire time or just the month of July (4wks) or August (3wks). Families will have the choice of attending full day, morning only or afternoon only. You can also choose from 5-day (Mon-Fri), 3-day (M/W/F) or 2-day (T/TH) options.
Children will be separated into groups according to their age, our Rocking Rooster group is 2.3 – 4 years and our Happy Hippo group is 4.1- 6 years. Each group will rotate through the classrooms that will be setup with a variety of different activities. In the arts and sensory room, the children will get down and dirty with their unique creative expressions as they enjoy painting, water play, gak, goop, playdough, etc.…. Our final station will be Gross Motor/Creative Movement. The children will also engage in a group co-operative game that will be planned on a weekly basis. Some of the children’s favourites in the past have been Parachute, Dance Freeze and a Musical Marching Band.
